American Council of Hypnotist Examiners Conference

On Friday May 2nd, 2008 I travelled to Glendale, California to perform at the ACHE (American Council of Hypnotist Examiners) Conference. This was the first time that I was to perform at the conference and I did not really know what to expect.

Gil Boyne, the Executive Director of the ACHE introduced me to the stage to begin the show. So, what do you say to a room full of hypnotherapists that you are about to perform a show to? "Use self-hypnosis to enter trance yourselves, I'll be back in 5 minutes to conduct the show", of course! That comment got plenty of laughs, and we went on with the show. I used 9 volunteers for the show and we had a lot of fun.

Mr. Boyne who typically does not stay more than 10-15 minutes into the Friday night hypnosis show at the conferences, stayed for the entire duration. His comments of my performance that ensued were very flattering. Gil came on stage and address the audience in attendance that my show in his opinion, scored a 12 on the 1-10 scale.

I was extremely pleased to hear those comments as Gil has observed thousands of hypnotists and his career spans 54 years. Those words meant a lot to me as Gil was my teacher when I first learned hypnosis and to hear his praise was very gratifying.

The following day at the conference, there was plenty of great lectures to attend as well as a wonderful banquet dinner and dance. Following the dance approximately 10 of us hypnotherapists went up to the penthouse bar and sat on the patio enjoying some beverages as well as sharing hypnosis stories. Then.... the jokes started.

The jokes were flying until 2 am and I have not laughed like that in quite sometime. From the monk, to death by Ooo Goo, to picking the ugly sheep, the night got ridiculously funny. Good times. :-)

POTENTIALLY, he had monk like characteristics, but REALISTICALLY, he was once sick puppy!
